The Girl Next Door - Jack Ketchum Rating this book is so hard since it's almost impossible to separate the writing from the story. It does make it worse once you notice it was based on true events.
If you thought "The Lord of the Flies" or "Children of the corn" were creepy - this book will give you nightmares. It's basically like a prepared scenario for another "Deadly women" episode.

To me the most repulsive and appalling part was not the description of physical abuse or sexual assaults. It was this short monologue Ruth gave about all girls being bitches. It shook me to my core.
I just put the book down and I have to say - I am very disturbed, upset and petrified.
